Rock Creek Gardens

Welcome to Rock Creek Gardens!  Rock Creek Gardens (RCG) was the first of a three-phase condo conversion of the original Rock Creek Apartments in the early 1980s.  The community consists of 227 units including one and two-bedroom condos, lofted homes, and duplexes that range from 580 square feet to over 1700 square feet.  A few units even have their own private patio (a limited common element).  While most of the condos here only have one bathroom, some of the duplex units have a powder room or even a second full bathroom.

All of the condos in Rock Creek Gardens were updated to have central air and heat with water-sourced heat pumps.  These water-sourced heat pumps essentially are air handlers that circulate air over the hot or cold water lines (depending on the season) that are pushed through the community’s boiler room or cooling towers.

As part of the condo conversion, condos on the upper-level of buildings with pitched roofs converted the attic space to lofts creating very dramatic living spaces with cathedral ceilings, skylights, and unique loft spaces depending on the roof line.  In addition, all units in RCG were retrofitted for and had washer and dryers installed.

Upon completion of the three condo communities, a lawsuit arose between Rock Creek Gardens and the Developer and as part of the settlement, the Rock Creek Swimming Pool became property of Rock Creek Gardens who now enjoys exclusive use of the pool.  The pool is located just behind the on-site management office at 2224-A Washington Avenue in the center of the RCG community.
